Direct Mount Actuation From Flo-Tite,
Inc.
Our new dual pattern ISO 5211 mounting pad facilitates
direct mounting of pneumatic and electric actuators.
- Eliminates the need for mounting kits.
- Eliminates exposed moving parts for safer work
environments.
- Direct drive eliminates play and improves actuator
positioning.
- Dual pattern pad fit's a wide range of actuator
sizes.
- Compact space saving design.
Direct mount automation is an ideal solution in most
applications for water, oil, gas and other chemicals with
ambient temperatures. Its compact space-saving
design makes the Flo-Tite "DM" series of ball valves an
excellent choice for low profile, cost effective industrial
and OEM applications.

The direct mount package from Flo-Tite has
performance and longevity not offered by any competitive
manufacturers, and here are some reasons why:
-
First, Flo-Tite
manufactures both the direct mount ball valve and the
actuator, which means that they were "mated" or designed
to be a package.
-
Second, it's a proven
fact that "O"-Ring style stem packing will always last
longer than conventional TFE packing, and without ever
requiring the need for adjustment.
-
Lastly, the direct mount
style of ball valves use a much larger (and square) stem
than conventional ball valves and connect directly to
the female drive of the actuator thus eliminating
"possible slop" associated with many bracketed ball
valves. It is no secret that actuated valve
performance and failure can be attributed to the
inherent design and installation of mounting bracket.
The Flo-Tite direct mount valves have the
lowest operating torque of any valve on the market due to
the design of the "O"-Ring backed seats and the specialized
"O"-Ring stem packing. Together they drop the torque
almost 50% versus any competitor. That feature alone
creates longevity and a great price.
For test and evaluation, we were asked to
submit both a conventional bracketed and TFE stem packing
style valve (which we offer as well) and our direct mount
stainless steel package. Both packages were installed
on a 45 degree angle, not straight to the pipe. This
was by design of course to put stress on the stem area.
Our conventional package lasted 90,000 cycles before the
first stem adjustment was required. The direct mount
package passed 700,000 cycles with no leaks.
